How do I apply to become a Bookmark Volunteer?

It’s great that you are interested in volunteering with Bookmark Reading Charity. Our one-to-one reading programmes with children can only take place thanks to the time and talent invested by volunteers. 

We offer two different formats of our core reading programme: Online or Face-to-Face. Depending on your location and availability, you can offer your time in whichever programme you’d like. The postcodes of our active face-to-face schools can be found here.

If you’re interested in finding out more about volunteering with Bookmark before you submit your application, you can attend one of our Open Sessions, which are for any prospective volunteers wanting to find out more about our reading programmes. You can secure a place for one of these sessions through this link, or watch the recorded version below.

As part of the application, we will ask you to submit details of people who can provide references for you. You can find out more about our reference process
