Schools
We partner with primary schools to support a whole school reading culture. We want to ensure the right resources, support and investment go to the children who need us most.
Our work with schools
From high-quality and diverse books, funding for reading spaces and teacher training to our one-to-one reading sessions, we effectively work with schools to improve literacy and change children’s stories.

One-to-one Reading Programme
Our partner schools can access one-to-one reading sessions for children aged 5 to 10, alongside a range of other benefits, to promote a whole school reading culture. These 30-minute sessions with vetted and trained volunteers, over a 6 or 12-week reading programme, allow children to improve their literacy skills, as well as their enjoyment and confidence in reading.
You’ll be supported by a dedicated account manager, helpdesk and termly check-ins, making it easy for schools to include their literacy plans.
School hub
Our School Hub gives direct access to our partner schools to publish reading programmes. This is so that our network of vetted and trained volunteers can book onto reading programmes to help your pupils with their reading. It is possible for reading sessions to be face-to-face or online, depending on the school’s session.
Grants, programmes and resources
We have a number of programmes and resources that could benefit your school. Our Literacy Partner Programme, Your Story Corner Programme and School Network Programme all offer funding and resources for primary schools.
We also have a breadth of teacher resources and events, and Early Years support, as well as our termly magazine, The Story Corner, which is delivered to schools and community settings across the UK.
